I had picked this book because it was rlsa a list of best highlander romanced along with The Pride of Lions by Canham. I enjoyed these books, they were very well written. The best parts of the book, again, are the secondary characters like Angus and Matthew. It was all threatening to kill off my favorite characters, making me afraid something bad would happen every second and then tricking me into thinking some were dead!
Firstly let me say it was worth the investment fe in time and money. This one starts where Kilgannon left off and moves through the following years of fear and war in Scotland.

And while it’s not entirely a cliff hanger ending, she leaves you with enough questions to allow for a third follow on novel, so I’m hopeful. Paperbackpages. However this goes closer to lilgannon than many historical novels manage and the payoff is worth it. I really like the supporting characters, especially Matthew.

The historical setting is thoroughly researched and blended seamlessly with the kjlgannon environment and the landscape. I’ve just finished this book and the one before it in two days with a toddler under foot, I simply could not put it down. A lot happens in this book as its story starts half way through the saga. The series left her readers thirsting for more stories of the glittering streets of London and the misty Scottish Highlands.
And then add a love story, of course. Thoroughly enjoyed this series and was sad when it ended. If there was a sequel, I’d read it.
