I bit many a nail waiting for this book, and then many more while reading it. So book 5 picks up shortly after the end of Captain’s Furyin which Tavi was revealed to be the heir to the crown of Alera i. He is escorting the Canin back to their home.

Butcher has the uncanny ability to make his Codex Alera realm seem real; as he understands it is in the subtle details Well, while all that may have a down side or more than one at least no one ever thought he could be the crown prince.

I thought my sister might like the books based on that alone but the books were too violent for her.
