She points out how much he has grown, and that even his fingernails needed cutting that morning.

This powerful little story concerns a Southern gentleman who disowns his wife because he fears she has “negro” blood. I also like her sudden plot twists and overall I enjoyed reading this. I won’t give it away, but will say I didn’t see it coming. Download this Lit Guide!
