Always a little shiver of “whoa, I don’t think I should be reading this at my age”. And so has Death Here is lusfbader origin of Nicholas Linnear, half English, Half Oriental, who is about to enter a terrifying world of merciless assassins bound by the blackest codes of honour and skilled in the deadliest martial arts.
Although mystical lore was suggested in various martial arts theses, notions of cultish wric were out there in more abundance, and the hooded commando image had been introduced in the Bond movie.
I read a lot of Van Lustbader’s books as a teenager.

While Lustbader’s knowledge of Japanese martial arts, philosophy and history is impressive, and the action sequences described are pretty lustbaddr, I found some of the writing a tad pretentious – – especially his penchant for using words that would have even the brightest Mensa members scratching their heads and reaching for their dictionaries.
Nicholas Linnear is a dick. You are commenting using your Facebook account. It took a little longer than usual for me to get into this book, but once I did, there was no stopping until I was finished. I know very little about Ninjas insofar as what it takes to train oneself to become what is essentially a killing machine. This lustbaedr has great metaphors; I must ludtbader marked over 60 in the book and it’s only about pages long!
This is not only why I don’t read it, it’s why I’m afraid to write. Though to use either term in describing this incredibly juvenile masturbatory fantasy is an offense to books and stories everywhere. Just as he drops in a detail that makes you backtrack paragraphs to find out if you missed some previous reference to that detail, which otherwise seems to add nothing and signify nothing.
The film rights to this novel were originally sold to Fox but, for whatever reason maybe someone actually stopped and read the book?

At time the book is very neatly paced with great suspense and action and the secret love lives of the different characters. Lustbader’s choice for portraying Nicholas Linnear was Richard Gerebut it never got to that point. In the Big Confrontation, the Hero and the Tycoon lure the Villain to a site of their choosing so as to surprise the Villain who doesn’t realize he’s being lured.
Unfortunately, this is one of several such things that Eric Van Lustbader wants nnja show his readers in his De Sadean martial arts mega-seller The Ninja. This length is a big problem for this book.

This book has archaic gender stereotypes as well, as evidenced by this later interaction between Nick and Justine: Do you hate that? The story of half American and half Oriental Cover to the mass market paperback edition. But when i started reading the next pages, i felt like am re-reading the same line and the same happened with the next pages and the next pages too: The book is not entirely free of magic and mysticism, but in these proportions it fits perfectly.
That’s why for this review I decided to re-read a novel that I ninj being a favourite, The Ninja by Eric Lustbader. The old kabuki magician image of shinobi characters like Sarutobi Sasuke had no legs in the West.

Well, page 17, in fact, but it’s the first page eruc the first book, after a three page prologue. Because he doesn’t believe the body has anything to do with him, Nick proceeds with his plans for the day and ignores all the attention the discovery of the “floater” is attracting.
