I’ve arrived at models that work and models that don’t. The strategies behind the success of this industry are explained in great detail, including complete cleniw rules and instructions for how to replicate the performance of successful hedge funds. The fallacies are usually about mentioning stocks that went up a few thousand percent, and how trend following models totally would have captured this.
Trend following is a great concept but be very aware of its limitations. The operative word here being ‘standard’. The strategies behind the success of this industry are explained in great detail, including complete trading rules and instructions for how to replicate the performance of successful hedge funds. This is, of course, for demonstration of concept only because I’m not comparing trrnd adjusted returns, but in any follwoing it shows how dumb are moving average based strategies that are holding countless assets all the time when higher returns can be generated only, let’s say, 3 days in a month: Grounded in verifiable evidence.
