And the biggest can’t be taken back. I’ve gone to hell and back in twenty-nine years and I’m only now coming addriane terms with moving forward, righting my wrongs, and making amends. Except not everyone deserves forgiveness. Someti Sometimes doing the wrong thing feels so right Sometimes the damage done is beyond repair.
Everyday is exactly the same. I focus on the pain, in the quest to feel and forget, but I remember everything. When I close my eyes the darkness encroaches and some days it feels like the things that adriaen me are the things that make me feel alive. Ridge, like Wild, is a standalone. Years later, after much trauma and rehabdetails revealed along with story, Ridge has started of a successful restaurant business.
Always a bit of a playboy he had replaced drugs with partying, wiild and excessive sex. Mia was like a drug, the one girl who kept him on the clean and narrow and gave it meaning. Seven words to describe Ridge Wild: Despondent, selfish, confused, conflicted, self-destructive, depressed and immature. He has decided he needs to make amends and salvage his relationship with his brotherthe only family he has left.
She was fearless, and the only way I could think to escape her, was engaging the fear, walking the line and dancing with the devil. Tired of the one-night stands he sort of defaults into a semi-committed relationship with Amy.
In his guilt and self-loathing Ridge falls even deeper into depravity with his drinking, smoking and treatment of Amy. He is leading Amy on while pining for Mia and even cheating on her. A hero who makes you feel!
A passionate love story!

Would I re-read this story: Would I read future books by this author: ARC provided to me by author Adriane Leigh in exchange for an honest review. View all comments. Mar 09, Kristen rated it did not like it Shelves: If I could give this book less than 1 star I would! That’s how much I disliked the story and its douchebag of a hero. I’ve never hated a hero as much as I hated Ridge! There was not one single redeemable quality about his character. I knew what I was getting into when I started this book I wanted to see if the author could redeem Ridge’s character from the legih bookbut I had no idea how disgusted this story would make me feel.
I will not waste my time writing a full review 1 Star! Both reviews contain spoilers. View all 53 comments.
Dec 05, Christy rated it really liked it. Ridge is very different from his brother. He made many poor decisions, but his heart was most always in the right place. Ridge was just as hot, but much darker. Mia is the only one for him.
She makes him feel different than anyone ever has. She makes him want to be better. There is only one problem.
He wants to do the right thing. Repair the relationship with Lane. He wants her, but how could it ever work How could we ever expect to have a future when our past was so fucked up? He misses her everyday.
She was his salvation. She was better adrlane the drugs he used to do, better than the alcohol. She was all he needed. But now, he has to find a way to live without her. She was my high. She was my drug.
Ridge starts back into some of his old habits. Excessive smoking, drinking, exercising, sleeping around. All orgasms were good orgasms, but the ones leiigh walked the line between pain and pleasure were bliss. Ridge does not like it sweet or gentle. Ridge likes it hard, dirty and a bit painful. Ridge is still trying to make things right with Lane.
He still is wilv without Mia. So he tries something else. Instead of sleeping around, he gets in a leighh with a sweet girl named Amy. He thinks maybe he could be happy with her. It would never be like adrriane was with Mia, but it lleigh be something. Things with Amy get way more complicated than he ever imagined. His self destructive behavior is hitting an all time high. I want you healthy. And sometimes that takes getting rid of someone.
And sometimes it takes running to someone. More than anything, he wants her back. But is it too late? They both have unhealthy coping mechanisms. They were both able to get past a lot of their issues while together. Now, they are both a hot mess. But maybe, just maybe, they can make it through it all. Let me take the pain away. Remember what we used to do, baby? The pain, the pleasure? Take it out on me. But I saw it. Right there, staring back at me. Ridge was one of those guys who did the wrong things for the right reasons.
